How to read a certificate of analysis
What the lot number, test method, purity figure and retention time mean, and how to match a certificate to the vial in hand.
Read the note →
A certificate of analysis is issued by the testing laboratory for one production lot. Check four things: the lot number matches the vial, the test date is recent, the method is stated (HPLC for purity, mass spectrometry for identity), and the purity figure is a number, not a range. A certificate with no lab name or no method is not a certificate.
